Camaro vs Civic race?

My not friend talks **** about my car everyday at school. He the kind who thinks he knows everything about cars because he attends career building cl as part of the school day. He recently sold his plymouth lazer for $1000 dollars and a ride to school from some creepy old guy. Anyway he bought a 1992 civic hatch. Im sure it does not have the bigger engine honda makes, but insists it still can beat my pos v6 camaro. Its a 2001 v6 camaro with 43K on it. Its stock too, but I think that 200 hp can outrun a lighter car with way less horsepower. Am i in the right here so I can just shut him up?
