Is this true about this Evangelical teaching?

On of my professors told me that the evangelical church belives that to be poor and uneducated for a black person is God's will. I was schocked when he told me because I listed to evangelical preachers and songs all the time. He also said that one of his female students asked her parents and found out the truth.
