Linux Question - How can I load the GRUB loader and have it support USB if the BIOS doesnt have that option?

goto the old Lappy manufactures website and ask their support geeks if there is a bios update.. for what you need.. if the old lappy has USB then they may have updated the bios to boot from it... though it will be usb 1.1 version
