Should I ask when he stopped loving me, why and if he can love me again or is that being desperate?

Okay, so I talked with my husband of 4 1/2 years last night & he told me he doesn't love me anymore. He doesn't feel the love anymore. We've been having problems for the past 3 weeks and it sucks to hear it but I know that's how he feels so I'm trying to accept it. It's really hard too bec we have two young children under the age of 3 so I just feel horrible for ending this because they are the ones who will be missing out. I want to ask him a few things like when he stopped loving me, why and if there is anyway he could love me again but I feel stupid asking these things so I haven't. Are these appropriate questions or should I just leave it?
