I just came back from a catholic funeral, and the priest would NOT let the granddaughter do a eulogy...why?

i'm not catholic and have never actually been to a catholic funeral, but i'm so sorry your girlfriend did not get to speak in remembrance of her grandmother. i think that's just terrible. you would have thought the funeral director would have been aware that it wasn't allowed, so he could have had it preapproved. or maybe it was just that priest? either way, that's awful for your girlfriend and her family.
