If liberals agree with the enlightenment period, the revolutions in France and the U.S. during the 18th?

century, why don't they agree with free market economics? All of the enlightment period thinkers and writers were against paper being used as money. Bastiat, Voltaire, Locke, Paine, and all of the Founders were against this.
